Crouching Liger Hidden Dragon

After this semester, Kevin will have his degree in film making, and I'm so proud of him for sticking with it. He is the only person that I know who really enjoys going to school.

This is the short film he made for our ward's Untalented Show. Don't mind the terrible acting of the second actor. Just look at the sweet film making skills.

Ten Months Old Today...

...and finally crawling.

He started doing this just days before he turned ten months. So I can say he crawled at nine months, right?

Two Places That Make Me Happy

I just wanted to post a few of the highlights from our trips last week.

I was only in Salt Lake for a night, and a whole day, and a morning, so I didn't get too many pictures, but this is my favorite. That's my mother-in-law Celine with William at The Garden restaurant at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Salt Lake is like Disneyland to me; it makes me happy to be there. I love Temple Square and all of the malls, and it reminds me of my days at BYU.

This is the plane ride home. I was a little worried about this part because I was by myself. But they both fell asleep during take-off, and everything was fine. Thanks, Celine, for flying us home so that we didn't have to drive all day Sunday.

Sunday night we drove to Anaheim.

This is William with my nephew Spencer. Sometimes I wish I could be pushed around Disneyland in a stroller.

This is Rebecca and cousin Ryder on their first roller coaster. Did you know that you only have to be 35 inches to ride the Matterhorn?

This is the meltdown she had after the Matterhorn. We won't be doing that one again for a while.

At the end of the trip we got to go visit my old roommate Jenny who lives like twenty minutes away from Disneyland. Lucky girl. I am really upset that I didn't get any pictures from our visit. We'll just have to take another trip down and get some pictures next time. Thanks for letting us come by, Jenny. Your family is so dang cute.

Thanks for taking us to Disneyland, Mom and Dad. We had a great time.

Daddy's Little Helper

This is Kevin posting this. Emily wanted me to be a part of it and so here it is. We got home from our Disneyland trip and I had two filthy cars to clean. And Rebecca wanted to be my little helper.
Her favorite thing to do was brush the tires. She probably would have preferred the hose if I would have given it to her. I thought she would just help me for a brief minute, get bored, and go back to playing in the house but she stayed out with me the whole time and helped me with both cars. We had a great time (I at least had a great time) working with my daughter and I just wanted to share.
It was obviously a bright day, and I guess it is just her right eye that is sensitive to the light. She is so much fun.

First Haircut

Two Fridays ago I was getting ready to drive to Salt Lake City to shop for bridesmaid dresses with my mother-in-law and my three sister-in-laws. My sister-in-law, also named Emily Bowman, is getting married this summer. After I flew home from that trip the following Sunday morning, we drove down to Disneyland Sunday night to vacation for the rest of the week. Needless to say, I had a lot of laundry and packing and various other things to do two Fridays ago, including an appointment to go visiting teaching, which I completely forgot about. Sara, if you're reading this, I'm still so sorry.

As I was in the shower Friday, I remembered that I needed to order Rebecca a ticket to Disneyland online because it was a lot cheaper. I knew as soon as I got out of the shower I needed to do that before I forgot and it didn't get done. I got out, put my razor on my bathroom counter so that I wouldn't forget to pack it with the rest of my bathroom stuff, and ran downstairs to buy the ticket before William could get mad. He was happy in his walker in my bathroom. After I ordered her ticket, I ran upstairs to get William to give him a bottle and put him down for a nap. He was pretty angry, but I thought it was just because he was tired.

After I put him down, I went into my bathroom to pack my bathroom stuff and found my razor looking something like this.

In case you can't quite tell, there were little red hairs all over it. Rebecca got my razor and decided to give her brother a haircut.

I also found little red tufts of hair all over my bathroom. I thought about what he had looked like when I gave him his bottle and put him down. I hadn't noticed any drastic change to his hair. I wanted to get him up to see what damage had been done, but I didn't want him to be a bear during the trip to Salt Lake, so I just sat imagining what his hair looked like.

After I got him up, I looked closely at his hair. I could see where she had taken out a few chunks, but it really wasn't too noticeable.

I had wanted to give him a haircut. I guess Rebecca was just trying to help me out. I finally gave him a haircut today. I tried to blend in all of the bald patches.
I really am grateful that she only cut his hair. This could have ended up a lot worse considering she used a razor!

Happy Birthday, Mom

I hope you're reading this, and I hope you're having a good birthday. Thanks for all you do for me, and thanks for taking us to Disneyland. We had a lot of fun.

I Got Tagged Again

I love this stuff. Thanks, Emily.

I'm sorry it's been so long. I've been out of town for a week. And I'm having technical difficulties with my camera, so this is the perfect post to get me back into blogging.

1-What is his name? Kevin Gerald Bowman

2-How long have you been married? 5 1/2 years. We got married on August 31, 2002.

3-How long did you date? Our first date was February 8, so we dated about 6 1/2 months before we got married.

4-Who eats more sweets? I do. Kevin didn't really eat a lot of sweets on his mission because people in Taiwan don't eat sweets. Since then, he's not into them. No wonder Asian people are so thin.

5-Who said I love you first? Kevin did. He said, "Don't weave me. I wove you." It freaked me out because I didn't know whether he was joking or not. The next day he said it a little more seriously.

6-Who is taller? Kevin

7-Who can sing better? Kevin. Who likes to sing more? Emily.

8-Who is smarter? Kevin. A conversation that seems to constantly go on in our house is, "Emily, why don't we do this thing this way from now on." And then I say, "Oh, that makes things a lot easier, doesn't it."

9-Who does the laundry? I do, and I'm a control freak about it. I heard Kelly Ripa from Regis and Kelly say that she has a talent for laundry, and that's exactly how I feel. I can get stains out of just about anything. I have my own little system, and I would rather Kevin just find another chore to help me with.

10-Who pays the bills? We pay them together. I did the bills for about the first four years of our marriage. Now I'm very happy to share the burden. If we don't have money, it's both of our faults.

11-Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Kevin does.

12-Who cooks dinner? It's about half and half. I can cook about four things. Kevin likes to grill and make other creative new things with what we have. I'm so glad he enjoys it because I really don't like to cook.

13-Who drives? I usually do. Kevin always falls asleep in the car, and I get car sick if I do anything but look at the road, so I may as well drive.

14-Who is more stubborn? I am, for sure.

15-Who kissed who first? He kissed me on Valentine's Day. I thought he was a prude because we went out about five times before he kissed me. But he planned it that way. He wanted our first kiss to be on Valentine's Day.

16-Who asked who out first? He asked me out after our first date. Initially, we were set up by my brother's wife.

17-Who proposed? He did. We were on a trip with his family, and he took me on a walk and said, "I'm going to marry you, Emily Ficklin." And I said, "I know."

18-Who wears the pants? I do sometimes, and he does sometimes.

I love you, Babe.

I love to hear people's love stories. I'm going to copy Rachel B. and tag anyone who wants to do this.
