Fire Engine Fun

Last night we went over to my brother's house to celebrate my nieces' birthdays which are just a few days apart. We went out into the front yard to find an older looking fire engine with a crane attached to it.
The owner of this cool truck bought it on Ebay, and he was letting the neighborhood kids have a ride on the crane. I guess you can buy just about anything on Ebay.

My brother took Rebecca and a few of my other nieces and nephews. You can't see the other little kids because of the drape around the crane car. (Is that what you would call this?)

Here is a video of the crane coming down. My brother put Rebecca down and picked up his son Ryder. Sorry about the glare of the sun.

I handed William to my mom with my half-eaten chocolate chip cookie so that I could get some pictures of the truck and the kids.
When I got back to him, he had happily finished my cookie for me.

Kevin's Reno trip to Heavenly

This is Kevin Posting. Still trying to be a part of this blogging thing. Two weeks ago, I flew up to Reno with my parents to visit my Sister Laura and her husband Michael. My sister went through the temple for the first time, so we went up to share the experience. It was such an awesome trip. Friday afternoon we flew in and spent the evening just hanging out. Went to dinner and played a Mormon "see how well we know you" game called Druthers. It was a lot of fun.

Saturday we got up early and went snowboarding up at Heavenly, and it was heavenly. Lake Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is the best of both California and Utah mixed together in one place. The snowboarding was great too. They still had a 100 inch base and we were boarding in T-shirts. It was great.

That night we went to the Temple. My sister was so beautiful. She has been wanting to go to the Temple since she was a kid. I remember when she turned 18, she asked the bishop if she could just go ahead and go through. I have never seen anyone so attentive, and observant. She just took it all in. Then she got nailed. Sunday, after we got home from church, and before our flight home, the Bishop came over to their house and called her to be the Primary President.

Anyway, I had a great time - except that my family wasn't there. I missed Emily and the kids pretty good. But I am so glad I went. It was awesome. I am so proud of my sister, and her husband is such an awesome guy.

Crazy Drivers

Just after Christmas my brother gave us their Barbie Jeep. His girls are too old for it, and his boys got a little boy car for Christmas because my brother hated seeing his two sons drive up and down the street in a pink Jeep. We hadn't been able to get Rebecca interested in riding around in it. She would ask us to pull it out of the garage every once in a while, but she would sit in it for a couple of minutes and move on to something else. Whenever she would try to drive it, she would get frustrated by hitting the rocks or shifting from forward gear to reverse gear, and she would just give up on it.

Yesterday our neighbor Madisen the daredevil showed her how it's done.
Madisen wasn't afraid to just drive. She went up hills, through rocks, and over bushes, and loved every minute of it.

Here they are driving to the dead end road at the end of our street. They could drive all over down there instead of around in circles in the driveway.

Rebecca eventually took a turn to drive on the dead end road. This is the most she's played with the car since we got it. We're glad Madisen could come over and show her how fun it is.

Emilee - if I were you I wouldn't get Madisen a 4 x 4 when she starts driving. That kid is fearless!

The Way Uh-Oh

I love the song The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson. If you don't know how it goes, I put a playlist at the bottom of the column to the right - just click on the play button. Apparently, Rebecca likes it too. Kevin got this video of her singing it with my sister-in-law Emily.

Happy Birthday, Jessica!

I know it's not your birthday in Atlanta now, but it's still your birthday here, so I'm not too late. I hope you had a great day! (Do you remember where we took this picture? Julie, you were also there.)

Can't Hardly Wait

I think I've mentioned how big a fan I am of the Twilight series, and I'm so excited for the movie to come out. I check stepheniemeyer.com almost every day, and today I was so ecstatic to see that a link to new movie footage had been posted. Here is the video from YouTube.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did. I know Ashley and Valerie are with me on this one.
