Bad Boys, Bad Boys

Officer Bret Ficklin of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stops a vehicle that is driving erratically, including crossing two lanes a traffic sharply and zig-zagging.

This picture is from the cops.com website. Tonight I watched an episode of Cops featuring my brother Bret who is an officer for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He pulled over the guy under the car for a traffic violation, and as he asked the man to step in front of the police vehicle, the guy took off running. My brother found him under this car. The man had drugs in his possession and a gun in his car, and that's why he ran from my brother.

I'm so proud of Bret and all he does to protect our city. It was so fun to see him in action at work.

Is Confident the Right Word?

A few weeks ago at dinner, Kevin and Rebecca were having this conversation:

Kevin: Rebecca, you're fabulous.

Rebecca: Yes, I am fabulous.

Kevin: No, you're supposed to say thank you.

Rebecca: No, I just want to say I'm fabulous.

And last night in the car, Rebecca and I were having this conversation:

Rebecca: I'm sick.

Me: I just think you're beautiful.

Rebecca: No, I'm sick and beautiful.

Me: Oh yeah?

Rebecca: Yeah. When I'm sick I get to take medicine.

Me: And what do you get when you're beautiful?

Rebecca: Um, I don't know. Candy or something.

At least I don't have to worry about her self-esteem right now.

This is who they cast as Emily. She is Sam's girlfriend who has the scarred face. She is gorgeous. It will be interesting to see how they do her makeup.

These are a few of the "werewolves" walking around Vancouver where they are filming the movie. I found a picture of the whole cast of werewolves yesterday, but I couldn't find it today.

And of course these two. I'm so excited for New Moon!

One Month Old Today

Braden is a month old today, and I'm already feeling like he is growing up too fast just like his brother and sister are growing up too fast.

And I got my first smile today. You might not believe me - it seems a little early for baby smiles - but I promise I've seen him smile at Rebecca, Kevin, and my mom already. My friend Rachel's new baby smiled at three weeks! I told her that I think the babies are just coming down happy.

One Year Later
